Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Andrew Raymond Kelly ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use BlockApp ("the App"), an iPhone (iOS) only application that helps you block apps and websites using Apple's Screen Time APIs.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Data Controller
For purposes of applicable privacy laws, the data controller is Andrew Raymond Kelly.

Summary
BlockApp is designed for privacy: there are no user accounts, no cloud sync, and no advertising SDKs built into the App. The block lists, schedules, and app or website selections you create are stored on your iPhone and are not transmitted to our servers because we do not operate backend servers for the App.
If crash diagnostics are enabled in a given build (see "Crash and Error Diagnostics" below), limited technical data may be sent to our error-monitoring provider to help fix bugs. We do not use analytics for advertising.
Information We Collect
The App itself does not require you to provide personal information to use its core features.
We may receive personal information only when you voluntarily contact us for support, including:
• Your email address.
• The content of your message and any information you choose to include (such as device or iOS version details).
If crash reporting is enabled for your build, we may also receive limited technical diagnostic data through our error-monitoring provider as described in "Crash and Error Diagnostics" below.
We use support information solely to respond to your request. We do not use support correspondence for marketing.
Information We Do Not Collect
Through the App, we do not collect, store, or process on our systems:
• Account credentials (the App has no sign-in).
• Your block lists, schedules, or Screen Time selections.
• Your location, contacts, photos, or other personal files.
• Usage analytics or advertising identifiers for marketing.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Information Stored on Your Device
To provide blocking functionality, the App stores data locally on your iPhone, including:
• Names and settings for block lists you create.
• Schedules (days and times) associated with those lists.
• Tokens representing apps and websites you select through Apple's system picker (Screen Time / Family Controls). Apple provides these tokens; the App does not receive raw app usage history from Apple beyond what is needed to enforce your rules.
• App preferences such as your chosen app icon style and whether you accepted the current Terms and Privacy Policy version.
This data is saved in on-device storage, including shared App Group storage used by the App and its iOS extensions (such as shield and activity monitor components) so blocking continues when the App is not in the foreground. We do not access this on-device data on our servers because we do not operate such servers for the App.
Screen Time Permission
BlockApp requires Apple's Screen Time authorization to block apps and websites you choose. When you grant this permission, iOS shows a system dialog managed by Apple. The App uses this permission solely to apply the rules you configure.
We do not use Screen Time access to monitor your behavior for advertising, profiling, or resale. Enforcement is performed by iOS using Apple's Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks.
You can revoke Screen Time access at any time in iOS Settings → Screen Time → BlockApp. Revoking access disables blocking until you grant permission again.
Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR / UK GDPR)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies and we process personal information, our legal bases include:
• Contract / pre-contractual steps: to respond to support requests you initiate.
• Legitimate interests: to operate, secure, and improve our support communications, and (when crash reporting is enabled) to diagnose and fix App stability issues, balanced against your rights.
• Legal obligation: where we must retain or disclose information to comply with law.
On-device data used to enforce your block rules is processed locally on your device to provide the App's functionality. We do not access that data on our systems.
Crash and Error Diagnostics
Some builds of the App may include optional crash and error reporting through Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) when configured by the developer. If enabled, the App may send technical diagnostic data such as error messages, stack traces, device model, operating system version, coarse in-app navigation breadcrumbs (such as screen names), and limited performance or navigation trace metadata.
We configure crash reporting with default personal data collection disabled. Block lists, schedules, Screen Time selections, website domains, and similar user content are not intentionally included in crash reports. Diagnostic logs stored on-device for the in-app Diagnostics screen are redacted before display or clipboard export.
Sentry processes this data as our service provider to help us identify and fix bugs. Data may be processed in the United States. Sentry's privacy practices are described at https://sentry.io/privacy/. Diagnostic data is retained according to our configuration and Sentry's retention policies.
If crash reporting is not configured for your build, no crash data is sent to us or Sentry.
In-App Diagnostics
The App includes a Diagnostics screen you can open voluntarily from Settings. It shows technical status information (such as app version, Screen Time authorization status, counts of lists and schedules, and recent redacted log entries) to help troubleshoot issues.
If you tap "Copy diagnostics," that snapshot is placed on your device clipboard so you can paste it into a support email or note. We do not receive clipboard contents unless you choose to send them to us. Clipboard data may be visible to other apps on your device if you switch apps before pasting.
Third Parties
The App relies on Apple iOS system services to function. Apple acts as an independent controller for data processed through iOS, Screen Time, and the App Store. Apple's handling of data is governed by Apple's privacy policies and your device settings.
When crash reporting is enabled, Sentry acts as our processor for diagnostic data as described above.
If you email us for support, your email provider and our email service may process message metadata and content to deliver the message.
The App does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or social login services.
Service Providers
We use a limited number of service providers to operate the App and support users, including:
• Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) — optional crash and stability diagnostics when enabled.
• Email and infrastructure providers used to receive and respond to support messages you send.
These providers process data only on our instructions or as needed to provide their services, subject to contractual or legal safeguards where required.
Data Retention and Deletion
Block list data persists on your device until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App. Uninstalling the App removes locally stored App data subject to iOS behavior and any iOS Screen Time settings that may remain until you change them in Settings.
Support emails are retained only as long as needed to resolve your inquiry, unless we are required by law to keep them longer. You may request deletion of support correspondence by emailing us.
If crash reporting is enabled, diagnostic events are retained for a limited period consistent with our Sentry project settings and then deleted or aggregated according to Sentry's policies.
Security
Because your blocking data stays on your device, its security depends largely on your iPhone's passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, and overall device security. We recommend keeping your device updated and using a strong passcode.
No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of information on your device, but we designed the App to minimize off-device exposure by not operating cloud storage for your block data.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information, and to data portability where applicable.
Because the App stores blocking data locally and we do not receive it, we cannot access or delete your on-device block lists from our systems. You can delete that data on your device through the App or by uninstalling the App.
To exercise rights relating to information we hold (such as support emails), contact us at ronnydevdream@gmail.com. We may need to verify your request. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the following applies to personal information we collect:
Notice at collection: we collect the categories below only as described in this policy and only when you contact us or when optional crash reporting is enabled in your build.
Categories collected (support only, if you contact us): identifiers (such as email address) and the content you send.
If crash reporting is enabled: device identifiers and diagnostic data described in "Crash and Error Diagnostics."
Sources: directly from you when you email us, and automatically from the App when crash reporting is enabled.
Purposes: to provide support, maintain App stability, and communicate with you about your request.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes requiring a "limit" opt-out under CPRA.
California "Shine the Light": we do not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
To exercise California privacy rights (know, delete, correct, and non-discrimination), email ronnydevdream@gmail.com. We will verify and respond as required by law.
International Transfers
BlockApp is offered for use on iPhones worldwide. Your on-device blocking data remains on your device.
If you contact us from outside the United States, information in your message may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where we or our email providers operate.
If crash reporting is enabled, diagnostic data may be processed in the United States by Sentry. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR requires safeguards for transfers outside your country, we rely on appropriate mechanisms such as the provider's standard contractual clauses or equivalent lawful transfer tools.
Data Breaches
We maintain limited personal information (primarily voluntary support emails). If we become aware of a security incident affecting personal information we hold, we will notify affected individuals and regulators as required by applicable law.
Tracking and Do Not Track
The App does not use tracking technologies for advertising and does not respond to "Do Not Track" signals because we do not track users across third-party websites or services.
Automated Decision-Making
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.
Children's Privacy
BlockApp is not directed at children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App. Screen Time features on a child's device may be managed by a parent or guardian through Apple's Family Sharing and device management tools.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us via email, please contact us and we will delete that correspondence.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this document and, where appropriate, provide notice within the App. Material changes may require you to accept updated Terms or Privacy Policy language before using certain features. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
